Susan is a Yoga scholar and instructor, whose experience in Yoga spans some three decades. She is one of a small group of Yoga professionals to receive a Master of Arts in Yoga Studies from Loyola Marymount University’s (LMU) Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts in Los Angeles, California. That graduate program, founded by Dr. Christopher Key Chapple, is the first accredited program of its kind in the United States.
Under the mentorship of Dr. Lori Rubenstein Fazzio, Susan is among the inaugural graduates of LMU’s Post Graduate Yoga Therapy Program. After completing that program, along with two Yoga Therapy Rx certifications at LMU with program co-founder and mentor, Dr. Larry Payne, Susan became a certified Yoga therapist with The International Association of Yoga Therapists. Susan also became certified in Dr. Payne’s Yoga After 50/Prime of Life Yoga®, Yoga for those in midlife or older.
Travels through India
During her LMU graduate studies, Susan traveled throughout northern India, studying Jainism and Buddhism and experiencing India’s rich spiritual traditions and culture. Later that year, Susan journeyed to southern India for intensive study in Yoga therapy with Yogacharya Dr. Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani at the International Centre for Yoga Education and Research at Ananda Ashram and the Centre for Yoga Therapy, Education and Research, A Center of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth. Susan also studied at Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute & Research Center with renowned prāṇāyāma master Sri O.P. Tiwari and Dr. N. Ganesh Rao, a master Yoga instructor and expert on The Yoga Sūtra of Patañjali and Sāṃkhya philosophy.
A Chopra Certified Vedic Educator, Susan earned instructional certifications in Primordial Sound Meditation, the Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga, and Perfect Health: Āyurvedic Lifestyle. She regularly teaches those practices to interested students from around the world.
Susan is also a certified Chopra Total Well-being Coach™ and draws on those skills to help guide clients to reconnect with their own insights and remember their innate perfection and wholeness.

Along with her work as a Yoga therapist, Susan is a widely sought-after writer, instructor, and speaker in the areas of Yoga, meditation, and Āyurveda. As an award-winning writer, Susan crafts guided meditations, articles, online curricula, and other materials for vast international audiences interested in advancing their understanding of Yoga’s philosophies and practices. She also offers in-person and online instruction, coaching, and mentoring to students and teachers. Susan has taught at the university level and frequently speaks to corporate, academic, and other groups.
